Live-In Student Program

The live-in student program at Farmington Fire Rescue allows for Fire Technology students from local colleges to gain relevant on the job training and experience while attending school. The students live at the fire station during the school year, and when not attending class are assisting with tasks around the station, responding to fire and EMS calls, and participating in training.

The program allows students to gain valuable experience that reinforces the science, theory, and techniques they are taught while in school, better preparing them for a future career in the fire service.

Students are assigned a bunk room and locker in the station for the duration of the internship, along with being provided full sets of protective gear,  uniform shirts, an orientation/policy manual,  and weekly compensation for going out on calls in accordance with department policy.
